2 Day Pacific Coast Adventure: Zip Line and Scuba Diving

First Day

Very early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in San Jose and take you to a natural adventure. The place where we are going to is located just outside the beach town of Jaco, on the Central Pacific Coast. This activity will take you through amazing landscapes in the central Pacific side.

Here, you’ll find lush primary and secondary tropical rainforest. On your tour, you’ve got the chance to see sloths, monkeys and also over 800 different types of tropical birds. Additionally, you will be encompassed by a lot of tropical vegetation, insects, reptiles and amphibians which all share this incredibly complex ecosystem.

We will star our adventure with the Aerial Tram which is one of the most unique Costa Rica excursions, where you will understand the rich ecosystems of the Tropical Forest explained by one of our naturalist guides on your gondola. Once you are in the mountains, your flight begins. We´ll offer you safety gear and instructions and then, we´ll start to fly from the tree-tops where we can see the home to an enormous amount of flora and fauna; eager to find light and space, many plants have colonized the treetops, turning them into small, independently functioning ecosystems.

As you zip-fly from tree-top to tree-top, you’ll be surprised about both rush and quantity of wildlife which most live in the luxurious ceiling from the forest canopy. The security and also the total experience with visitors are a top priority with this tour. The personal safety equipment, the trails, the lines and platforms were all carefully designed by engineers, under strict safety standards.

Defy yourself as you face up an incredible 164 feet water current running down your whole body while you try to climb a nearly vertical downstream. With just the help of a safety harness and a rope use your very hands and feet to reach the top completely wet to the bones, but this is not the end, be prepared for a refreshing and wicked rappel fall from a 82 feet high, there is nothing better than enjoying Costa Rica on this way.

After all these incredible experience, we will have a delicious costarican typical lunch. Once we are ready, we will start our trip to the scuba diving destination, Playa Dominical is only 1 hour and half from us. Upon arrival we will have an introduce to this amazing world by doing some scuba diving practice in a pool for around 2 hours where you`ll learn the basic skills and techniques for dive.

We will get ready for the next day where we will dive the Caño Island Biological Reserve.

Second Day

After having breakfast and on our way to the beach, our mind start to think all the possible things we can see diving an island called by many people “The mini Coco Island”. On this trip we will explore gorgeous coral reefs and virgin blue waters. And here we are, near the Osa Peninsula in one of the best Costa Rican snorkeling and scuba diving destinations. Please don´t be afraid and join us on this magical boat tour and explore with detail the mysteries of the underwater world at the Caño Island archeological wonders.

It is home to a spectacular variety of stunning marine flora and fauna and is famous for having Costa Rica’s largest concentration of coral-building organisms along the Pacific Ocean.

With fantastic underwater visibility, you have opportunity to observe and swim alongside sea turtles, dolphins, stingrays, manta rays, moray eels, barracudas, tuna, snapper, parrot fish, puffers and more. This forever-changing panorama is a powerful experience for those who venture below the surface to investigate the variety of marine life found near the coral reefs. On almost every dive, the large schools of fish swimming around and overhead can be breathtaking. Sometimes the numbers are so great that sunlight can actually be blocked by these large schools of fish, creating an underwater eclipse.

Caño Island is often used as a migratory passage of birds that fly to warmer climes from the northern hemisphere during the winter. Aside from the evergreen forest found on the island, the only other trees growing out here include the rubber tree, the wild cocoa tree and some shrubs and bushes. Besides birds like the osprey, black hawk, cattle egret and phalarope, some common animals and reptiles on the island are: bats, boa constrictors, possums, tree frogs, moths, beetles, mosquitoes, rats and lizards.
